Spring 2010: what fashion has in store for us...

So it's that time of year again. The time when even though it is still snowing like crazy outside my window, I start to think about the warm weather, the skirts, the dresses and even the bikinis that I will be slipping into in just a few months time. Well, I have put together a sampling of some of my favorite looks so far for Spring '1o, just for those daydreamin' moments when you just can't help yourself! So let's dive into spring for a hot second. (p.s. click on the pictures to make them bigger) Which are your favorites?!

Inspirational bits: James Jowers

Todays inspiration comes from photographer James Jowers. His images are so raw compared to the manipulated perfection we are used to this day and age. I feel like so much emotion comes through these photographs. Every picture tells more of a story the longer you stare into it. His inspiration? 1960's and early 70's New York City. It seems like a very different (perhaps happier?) time. He captures such fleeting, amazing moments...I just want to step inside for a while...

Hello February.

Hello my dears! How's life treating you? Any amazing weekend plans? Well, tonight I am staying in with some leftover chili and a movie. Tomorrow I am going to take advantage of that free day at the art museum and then later that night I will be on sipping on some margaritas with friends. Sunday I will attempt to watch the Super Bowl (is it bad that my favorite part about this day is the queso dip?!) and there ya go...that's my weekend. Hope you have a good one :)

Oh and look at all this loveliness...

The Poppies (aka the jury's choice awards for crafters!)

A common kitchen blunder...SOLVED!

Paper airplane decor idea...so sweet.

Cute DIY Valentine's gift idea...(and here!)

Noodle the Narwhal. I want him!

The perfect Valentine's dress...here

Trend alert: Chevron stripes.

Another New Years "goal": learn to make jam and preserves...here's a good start!

This leaf lantern makes me feel warm and cozy!

This video of the title sequence for a popular Dutch TV show makes me laugh.

Etsy favorite: Sadie Olive

This store has some of the cutest decor ideas and such beautiful pictures to go along with them. From vintage spoons to old mirrors, I have no idea where I'd put any of it but it's all so elegant looking. Here's a sampling...

Free days...

I thought I'd let you in on a little bit of info I read in 5280 this month. Now that I , ahem, live in this city, I desperately want to take advantage of all the museums and cultural establishments about town. However, they can be rather pricey (Denver Art Museum is $10 for Colorado residents). BUT 5280 has featured an article about the best bargains in Denver and has posted all the free days for the Denver art museum, the zoo, the botanical garden, etc. So now I have no excuse; I must go. And you should too!
