I ALWAYS have a hard time with cards. I literally stand in front of the card aisle at Target for at least 30 min every time looking for the perfect one. I usually aim for a mix of funny and sweet but you can throw sentimental out the window- those are the worst kinds. These "mean cards" are so creative though. They are incredibly simple and the drawings are almost bad but I love them!
Inside: "Note the difference"

Inside: "I call you a friend."
Inside: "Nothing else is coming...I knew you'd want it that way. Happy Birthday!"
Inside: "refrain, and seek instruction"
