New Mexico: Scenery

Here is a random group of photos from my trip to New Mexico. I took tons of photos of the scenery but they are a bit repetitive so I won't bore you here. These are mainly from Ojo Caliente and Ghost Ranch. Ghost Ranch was the summer home of Georgia O'Keeffe and was where she painted many of her New Mexican landscapes. We went to the ranch only for an afternoon but it was well worth the trip! The landscape is really unlike any I've ever seen...just gorgeous. I will have more photos on my flickr site very soon!

Casa de las Chimeneas

So I have to tell you about the amazing bed and breakfast we stayed at in Taos. We were only there for two nights but I could have stayed there for much, much longer. The inn titled Casa de las Chimeneas was actually more like a collection of three or so adobe buildings. Our room was called the Rio Grande and included a jacuzzi tub (heaven), a stocked fridge with anything from water to Blue Sky soda (free), an electric kettle (!) and a flip of the switch fireplace! They serve you breakfast of course but also provide a light dinner. The first night we got there we had tortilla soup and a chocolate chip, walnut cookie. Apparently they also pack you a picnic lunch if you are planning on going for a hike or something in the afternoon. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Happy Friday: Road trippin'

Well, I'm headed out on the open road. My mom, sister and I are taking a road trip to Taos and Ojo Caliente New Mexico tomorrow morning! I am sooo excited! I don't have time to do my usual long weekend post but I assure you I will be back in business by next Wednesday. Hope you lovelies have a marvelous weekend! x
