Have a cozy weekend!

Today feels like the whole city of Denver is having one big snow day! I love it! I'm pretty much prepared to stay in and cuddle up this entire weekend. It's been snowing for a full 24 hours and supposed to keep going, on and off, until Sunday. At our house that usually means lots of sleeping in, warm blankets and big breakfasts. Thanks weather, for determining my weekend plans!

While your stuck in the house you might as well look at these things:

RESTAURANT week: is creeping up on us Denver, so excited!

DOG lust: OMG, I want one so bad. (also, awesome)

NERD valentine: we're all one at heart!

GREENBRIER inn: I visited this place as a child, take me back!

WATCH kooples: click on a couple to watch {the sweetest} short video.

ROALD dahl: postage stamps.

CLOSEPIN art: by We Make Carpets.

BEER bread: weird but undoubtedly amazing!

HILARIOUS and brilliant: v-day cards.

WINTER picnic: impossible at the moment, but a girl can dream!

COOKIE making: better than a candy necklace...

ONE photo: adore this.

LIGHT festival: in Ghent, Belgium. (p.s. this website is my new obsession, don't you want to visit all these places?!)

Wandering Wednesday: Fancy Tiger Crafts.

If you are in any way the crafty type, Fancy Tiger is a dream come true. Bolts of the most wonderful textiles and rare fabrics line the walls of this one-of-a kind store. The adjacent wall houses yarn galore in every color imaginable. Not a sewer or a knitter? No problem. They offer classes for beginning through advanced students on everything from the basics to the much more complex. Their store recently moved locations, so a couple weeks ago I wandered down to South Broadway to check out the new space. Only one block from their former location, the new store is a lot larger and more organized. I have to admit, the former location had cozier, more inviting feel to it, but it is obvious that they out grew the space. Now there is more room for the good stuff! So if you're thinking of taking up a new hobby this year, this is the place to start. It really is a Denver must.

* Don't forget to visit their clothing store right next door! Probably a future 'wandering'...
Also, their official grand opening party is this Friday, just two days away. Find out more here.

DIY: Instagram photos, a look backwards...

It is so easy to grab my phone, click, choose a filter, and like magic, an 'old school' photo appears. Before Instagram existed this whole process would have been much more complicated. It involved physical action, money and way more anticipation. You needed to own the camera, buy the film, load the film, take the photos, process the film, pay for the development and then, finally, you get your photo. For me convenience and often times, curiosity are the reasons why I love Instagram. However, I am still a huge romantic when it comes to actual, tangible film. Which is why I love this poster. It teaches you how to get Instagram results with real life cameras. Kinda backwards, right? Well that's technology for ya! I want to try this so bad!

Bits of my weekend...

Recently, my friend Erin (the one on the right) moved from Boulder to Denver and we are so happy to have her! Coincidentally, her new place is only a block away from our apartment which makes it even more exciting. It's starting to feel a little like we are living in a real life Friends episode around here--people popping in randomly, coming and going as they please. It's pretty awesome.

We coined this weekend 'girl's weekend' because it sort of accidentally became one. Friday night was spent talking around the kitchen table with 3 pints of ice cream and 3 giggling ladies. Saturday I guiltily went to the gym and then later enjoyed some cocktails and photo booth fun (pictured ablove:) at this bar. Sunday, Erin, Becca, and I decided to treat ourselves to a thai massage which was the best idea ever! I believe $25 for a one hour massage is some of the best money I've spent in a while. The weekend was capped off with some frozen yogurt and a chic flick. Yep, I said it, total girls weekend.
