Bits of my weekend...

Just a couple photos from the weekend....had a date day with my sweetie on Friday-- found a ranch in the middle of the city, shared some incredible tacos and sipped on a little tequila (that place makes a mean margarita!). Mmm, it was a wonderfully non-eventful few days. Bliss

Wandering Wednesday: Yesterday's sunset...

I was nabe scouting yesterday (yes, that's short for neighborhood scouting) and witnessed the most beautiful sunset fall over the Willis Case Golf Course...which if it's your kinda thing btw, is a gorgeous public course. These are the sort of moments that make all the wandering I do seem incredibly worth while. Cheers, it's Wednesday!

Tuesday Tunes: The Porchlight Sessions

Anna and I took photography classes together in high school. We were both discovering our artistic passions at the same time and it, of course, created a special bond between us. Some of my favorite memories of that time were riding around in the car with her...windows rolled down, music turned up--we would go on little "hunts" for beautiful things or just take pictures of each other (cause that's what you do when you're 16). Sharing creativity can pose for very intimate moments and we shared many.

Now she's all grown up and making stuff happen and is a total go-getter which is so inspiring to watch. She's one of those people I am proud to have known for such a long time and am in awe of the beautiful work she's creating. Right now she's in the midst of trying to fund her first documentary and while she's worked on some amazing projects in the past, The Porchlight Sessions, is her baby. Like all aspiring artists, she has poured all she has into this project and is at the point where she now needs our help. Her Kickstarter campaign launched a little under two months ago and only has a week left to go! I encourage you to check out the trailer, watch a couple videos and immerse yourself in a little Bluegrass history. The stories and the music will give you chills! There is so much love and raw talent in even these short little bits. And when that's all over...give what you can, if you can...for me, for Anna, for the love of Bluegrass, music in general and the love of being a part of something fantastic. Spread the word! It's all or nothing at this point. Thanks my loves!

Wandering Wednesday: Masterpiece Delicatessen.

I love sandwiches. I could seriously eat them for every meal. And while my love for sandwiches is great, I am pretty picky when it comes to what makes a good one. You can't just slap any ol' bread together with some meat, cheese and condiment and call it a decent sandy. No, no. It's the perfect combination of crusty bread and fresh ingredients and Masterpiece Delicatessen has never failed me. Every time I visit I try something different and it is always my 'new favorite'. This weeks favorite...pork belly. It was probably one of the richest sandwiches I've ever had but it was amazing! I love this place, it's my go-to for a good lunch spot. Oh and bonus, starting May 1st they'll be open til 8pm, 7 days a week!

Flowers, plants and life in general.

I apologize for the plant overload but I had a really hard time editing these photos down to a select few. Flowers are just so darn pretty! And the Botanic Gardens is a really incredible spot to take pictures. The rest of these pics are from an Easter brunch party, a swing at Forest Room 5 and our dinner date the other night (which didn't disappoint although the waiter could have been a little more attentive). It was a little dark in the restaurant so pardon the grain (and the food photos didn't turn out at all but if you go sometime, get the Sourdough Waffle ice cream sandwich...trust me). Hope you all had a beautiful weekend!

Have a pretty weekend!

Well I wish I could say that I am looking forward to two relaxing days ahead but in fact I will be working a good portion of this weekend and cherishing my down time. It sure does makes it even harder hearing/seeing all the Coachella buzz on Instagram and the blogosphere in general. Lucky ducks! I'd love to be enjoying the California sunshine listening to amazing music right now. Tonight I am treating myself though and going out with my man on a little date here. Can't wait! I've been dying to go for a while now!

Wandering Wednesday: Best of...Denver Neighborhoods.

Since I've been wandering a lot lately I thought I'd pick a handful of favorite photos I've taken of Denver neighborhoods these past few weeks. To set things straight these are not my personal favorite neighborhoods...I just like the photos and wanted to share what I've been up to with you guys. Can you locals guess what's, what? I don't think I knew a lot of these neighborhoods even existed before I started doing this. Most of these I posted are familiar but a few are off the beaten path.

Here's the rundown from top to bottom if you're curious:

1. Hale 2. Congress Park 3. Gateway 4. Capitol Hill 5. Westwood 6. Capitol Hill 7. Whittier 8. Whittier 9. Park Hill 11. Park Hill 12. Park Hill 13. Belcaro 14. Skyland 15. Capitol Hill 16. Congress Park
