Welcome to the weekend!

Oh yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I am so glad it's Friday. This has been a rough one for me. Anyone else? Well I am happy to say that I have very minimal plans this weekend. Tonight I am going dancing with some friends at this lovely joint...rocking out to some 50's pop music is just what the doctor ordered I believe. Saturday I plan on taking it easy and possibly doing some laundry, going to the park and reading some book maybe? Sunday I am going to the flea market with my friend Kelsey to check out the goods and help her sell some junk. Have a fabulous next few days! x.

Cool things...

These packages have character.

Ugh...so freakin' cute.

Nathaniel Rateliff.

I am so overwhelmed at all the musical talent I saw this past weekend. It made me so proud to be a part of the Denver community and excited to see what a strong musical force we have become. There were so may amazing performances but one that really stuck out to me was Nathaniel Ratecliff. My friends and I were hurried to make it to his show in the first place and I am pretty sure I missed a song or two but once I got there everything stood still. His songs are spine chilling. Incredibly beautiful. They tug on your heart strings and dig up emotions you tried to bury deep inside. They played on the outdoor stage in the Goodwill parking lot just as the sun was going down and it was magical. After the show I realized that I actually saw him open for Jolie Holland at the Soiled Dove way back in 2007 under his former name, The Wheel. The new album In Memory of Loss came out in April and this song blows me away...

Have a happenin' weekend!

Hello friends! How are you doing this beautiful Friday? I am trying to avoid passing out at the office due to some major lack of sleep. Last night was the first night of the UMS here in Denver and a welcomed early start to my weekend fun. Although I am feeling the repercussions, it was well worth it. I saw some amazing local acts. My favorites for the evening included Dovekins, Candy Claws and Paper Bird. Tonight is the second day of this four day long festival so, that is pretty much my whole weekend. I can't wait to get out of here and enjoy it!

Here's some cool stuff...

Do you think you could wear only 6 items of clothing for an entire month? These people did.

So excited for this on Sunday!

Brilliant fountain!

Yummy milkshake.

I whaley like this.

A beautiful Roman holiday.

The prettiest little tea strainer.

Cocktail of the week: Mrs. Julep

I like this...a lot.

Awesome remodeled camper- more here! (I wanna go on a road trip so bad)

Bits of inspiration: shhh....

I am not sure when or how I stumbled across this tumbler but I can't get over every, single picture. There is not much explanation provided except for a few sentences describing that they are mainly scans of National Geographic photos with some random pictures thrown in the mix but this group of images is serious gold. I find myself wandering back to the site every couple of days just to get back to this place it seems to take me. There is something really raw and back to basics about all of these pictures that I really like a lot...

Breathless.

Last night I saw Breathless at the Chez Artiste theater here in Denver. They are re-releasing it in cinemas all over the country for the films 50th anniversary.Even though this was probably the forth time I'd seen it, this scene made me laugh because I had totally forgotten about it. Thought I'd share. Also- if you haven't seen it, go. If anything just see it because Jean Seberg is so gosh darn cute. But also, come on...it's a classic.

Hello weekend.

Hi darlings. How was your week? I am ending on a good note this Friday due to positive feedback from the big ol' boss. Now I can have some real fun. Any plans? I have some minor ones in the works but nothing official really. There are talks of going down to Boulder and swimming in the creek tomorrow, or maybe just raiding a pool in Denver...splashing around in the water is a must in this 100 degree heat. phew! Tonight I am going out on the town with my ladies which I am really looking forward to...and as for the rest of the weekend, who knows! Keep cool my loves!

Oh, look at this...

What can be better than metallic leather?

Greek yogurt...cake!

Pretty, pretty painting.

Happy Monday...

I am not even going to pretend like I tried to write a post on Friday...cause I didn't. I thought about it on my drive home from work and in the hour I had to eat and change before I headed to Titwrench, a music festival that showcases female musicians, but it just wasn't gonna happen. On Saturday, I cleaned my apartment the entire day, for about 5 hours (seriously!), because my Mom is actually here right now and will be staying with me the next couple of days. Then on Sunday I had brunch at my favorite spot, had a minor panic attack because I thought I lost my entire set of keys and then recovered gracefully with a beverage when I found them. Not a terribly eventful weekend but a nice one. How did you do?

Also, look at this......

Summer sneakers...I have been wanting some Toms for a while now. Which are your favorite?

I love this...beautiful secret.

Pretty colors.

Would have loved to have gone to this exhibition.

This series of photos made me chuckle.

Wow, I want to live here.

Where do you spend your summer/family vacations?

This weekend...do this

So funny....

Lovely striped dress.

DIY: camera straps.

World cup vending machine...sorry Netherlands :(

Overalls.

I love these revamped overalls from J.Crew's spin-off store Madewell (who, by the way just launched their new website about a month ago) . Okay maybe it's more of a romper, but still, so cute . I have been recently drawn to overalls and for some reason I have had the itch to buy a pair of these ill-fitting suckers all season. There is something so down home looking bout them.

Think happy thoughts...

I am having a bit of a bummer day today. I feel the best remedies for bad days include bath time and tea time...sometimes all at one time. For some reason feeling warmth makes me calm down a bit. What about you? Any secret tricks I should know about? These prints from Please Be Still are nice little reminders that happy times are just around the corner, because really, everyone has bad days...

It's the weekend + happy 4th.

Hello my dears. How was did your week treat you? Are you as excited as I am for this weekend? I love this holiday. Seriously. Such a good excuse to do all the things I love. And fireworks? Pretty much the best thing ever.

Well Saturday I plan on hitting the Farmers Market and Cherry Creek Arts Festival in the morning and then later that night I am off to get my first taste of fireworks at Sloan's Lake. On the 4th I am heading down to Coors Field for the Rockies game- I know, so American of me, and then later that night a friend of mine is having a small party at her 8th floor high-rise which should be a pretty fantastic view of the city. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend and I'll see you folks shortly.

Hey look...

Comically Vintage. (this one and this one are particularly funny)

Summer pie...yum yum.

I want one...Holga D

Wish I were back in TN.

**Sorry to cut this one short, I just gotta get out in that sunshine!
