Hello Weekend!

Oh summer, you are such a tease. You are here and then you disappear right when the weekend comes. Ugh, so annoying. Well, I haven't much planned for the next few days yet. My friend Marisa is coming in town and will be staying with me for a bit so I think tonight we'll go out for some cocktails and such. I am so excited to have her around, we always have so much fun together. Hum, other than that I really don't know. Hopefully some reading, good eating and fun will be involved. Enjoy it guys!

Also, I found all this cool stuff...

A little more on urban farming.

Sweet wooden watches here and here.

Summertime= hammock time. And speaking of beds in trees...

Funny plate.

I want this kitchen.

Beautiful barn home.

Teacup illumination.

Cinco de Mayo recipe! (another here)

Cool deer bust!

And I can't leave without saying...what a dress.

Deep thought thursday...

Rooftop farm.

Can you imagine working in the garden while simultaneously looking out onto the New York City skyline? It sounds incredibly therapeutic. Eagle Street is a 6,000 square foot rooftop farm that houses a huge variety of fruits and veggies, flowers, chickens, bees and even baby bunnies. During the growing season they have a weekly farmers market, host educational and volunteer programs, have monthly CSA dinners and offer an open farmers day where everyone can join in on the fun. They also bicycle their produce to local restaurants. Something like this needs to find it's way to Denver asap!

Bits of my weekend...

Well it might have rained but that didn't stop us....Easter brunch was so lovely again this year. Luckily the weather stayed at bay til about 5 o'clock, which gave us plenty of time. We even squeezed in a game of bocce ball. The other days were spent dancing, cooking, thrifting and going to the BWC show. Sleep didn't really happen. Hum...I'll catch up this week, right?

Have a delightful weekend!

Hello loves. Any fun plans this weekend? Unfortunately we are supposed to get some of those April showers over the next few days-- But I'm okay with a little rain, I'll just wear my Easter best with some rain boots! This week has been pretty exhausting, I haven't been sleeping a whole lot so hopefully I'll be able to catch up over the weekend. No definite plans for me except for small gathering of friends for Easter brunch on Sunday. I did this last year and it was one of my favorite parties all year. I love getting together with friends during the day...playing croquet and eating delicious food. I do so want it to be warm like last year but you get what you get, fingers crossed. Hope you all have a lovely weekend! x.

Look...

How to host a brunch and still sleep in...

This is amazing...Peeps show.

Tuesday Tunes...

All Songs Considered is another podcast I've been into these days. If you've never heard it before, I'd recommend. It's a really great way to find new music and hear your favorite bands new tracks. Here are some recent discoveries I'm really liking....

Bits of my weekend...

I spent the weekend plant shopping, terrarium making, going to brunch at one of my favorite places and seeing some lovely faces. I also went to a wonderful show here on Friday night and had some cocktails here. It was nice and low key. Oh and I found the most fantastic place in Denver, City Floral, where I got lost in amazing plant wonderland. The main lesson of the weekend: terrarium making is harder than it looks, especially when your hand doesn't fit past the mouth of the jar. Also a warning-- if you have pets, keep terrariums in high places.

The little red balloon that could...

I love podcasts. Don't get me wrong music definitely has its place but variety is so necessary and sometimes I just wanna listen to a cool story or learn something new. It makes my morning commute so much more bearable. This morning I was listening to one of my favorites, Radiolab, and they featured the most amazing story.

Story is... In 2001 a ten year old named Laura Buxton in Stoke-on-Trent, England released a red balloon with her mailing address, her name and a note saying "please return". About 140 miles and ten days later, the balloon landed on the lawn of a house in Milton Lilbourne, England. A neighbor saw the balloon, picked it up, and just as he was about to throw it away, he noticed the note. He marched over to the house where the balloon was found and handed it to ten year old girl named, well, Laura Buxton. The balloon had travelled over 100 miles all the way across the country and landed on the lawn of a girl with the same name.

Don't believe me? Give it a listen (the story is the first 6 min of the podcast)...

Tuesday Tunes.

I loved Fleet Foxes right away, the second I heard them. Their first album holds a dear place in my heart. And although their new release, Helplessness Blues, has taken a few more listens to warm up to, I do like it. Just not as much. What do you guys think?

Chronic bitchface.

I found this the other day and was laughing so hard. Has this ever happened to you?! It has definitely happened to me, which I think is the reason I love it so much. Is there anything more irritating than a stranger telling you to "smile", when you are in a perfectly good mood already? Happy Monday!

Hello Friday!

Hello loves, how was your week? Mine was somewhere in the middle. I was finally able to clean my apartment after coming home for weeks annoyed at the filth. This weekend I am planning on doing some re-organizing and redecorating. I need a change of scenery, even if it's just my room. Other possible plans include-- a movie night (I reluctantly admitted to never seeing one Star Wars film and am now being sat down and forced to watch the whole series. I have to say, they're pretty good), dance party here or here, and some down time. Have a beautiful weekend!

And look at this neat stuff...

A moose, a bear, and a fox.

beautiful origami.

remembering a legend.

too pretty to blow your nose in.

Beets are good.

Always looking for a good travel journal.

love this geometric shape necklace.

Fantasy shopping...

I have been fantasy shopping a lot lately. I don't know what it is about spring but I have a serious itch for some new clothes. Unfortunately with taxes (alas, self-employed), bills and life, this month has been kind of a finical catastrophe. Why, oh why are there so many cute clothes out there? Just look...
